1944
My cousin Bob Harrison made it out of the jungles of the Philippines at the end of WWII and back home to Greenfield, Indiana. He was a retired Chrysler management member and a certified amateur poet (with awards and prizes up the ying-yang to prove it). He showed us all how to put the words together. But that's probably a lost cause.

HERE you can find a picture of we Harrison
cousins in 1939.

Although Bob was a WWII Navy veteran he was not a Submariner. However, owing to his many writings of submarine related poems, he was voted a Honorary Associate Membership in the Hoosier Base of United States Submarine Veterans Inc.

Cavalla Plaqque

Here is a plaque awarded to Bob for his USS CAVALLA poems.

It was presented by a group of submarine veterans involved in the restoration efforts for the USS CAVALLA Memorial Boat located at Galveston, Texas.

One of his CAVALLA poems is used in the USS CAVALLA Memorial brochure.

The wood for the plaque is from the CAVALLA deck.
